Communicate patient care needs to all members of the health care team. Contribute effectively to promote timely and efficient patent admission, transfer and discharge including providing appropriate patient education. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the primary care provider. Documents patient status in an accurate, pertinent and concise manner. Assist with updating care plans. Delegate or assign aspects of patient care to health care team members (non-licensed) commensurate with their validated competency to perform the task. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: As assigned. KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITIES: Knowledge and competency in performing baseline nursing skills.   AGE-RELATED COMPETENCIES: Demonstrates the basic knowledge and skills necessary to identify age-specific patient needs appropriate for this position. Information Management: Treats all information and data within the scope of the position with appropriate confidentiality and security. Risk Management/Quality Management/Safety: Cooperates fully in all Risk Management, Quality Management, and Safety Activities and Investigations.   ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS: Work environment consists of daily patient contact, which may include exposure to blood, or other body fluids.     MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Education – Graduate of an accredited trade or vocational school of nursing. Work Experience – One year relevant experience, new graduates accepted based upon position availability. Training – N/A License/Certification – Current New Mexico Nurse License and BLS certification required.
