Qualifications

We are looking for an MRI Technologist with a strong technical background, including completion of a 2-year Radiology Technology program. Candidates should be licensed and registered (or eligible) with ARRT or AMRIT, have BLS certification, and one year of MRI diagnostic imaging experience. Strong technical skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently are essential.

Job Description

The MRI Tech 2 is accountable for performing Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures, which produce high quality diagnostic films. Works on a level not requiring constant supervision. Performs a variety of procedures for MRI, including, but not limited to, basic portable, fluoroscopy, extremity and chest x-rays, basic computer skills, biopsies, trauma alerts, core MRI protocols, MRI advanced level recons, Neurovascular MRA’s, IV skills, Q.A. maintenance, sterile contrast studies acquired by the administration of radio-frequency waves and magnetic energy to human for therapeutic or research purposes. Assists manager with the implementation of policy and procedures, interdepartmental committee involvement and is a preceptor for the department. These procedures require independent judgement, ingenuity and initiative when utilizing ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. Also responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.



  • Technical Program Completion of 2-year program in Radiology Technology from an accredited school or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (AMRIT) Program
  • Radiology Technologist License

  • Registered American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) & MRI registry eligible Or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (AMRIT) certified

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • One (1) year progressive responsibility in an MRI diagnostic imaging environment.
