An Oil, Lube, and Tire (OLT) Technician performs essential preventative maintenance, including changing engine oil, replacing filters, rotating tires, and checking fluid levels. They inspect vehicles for safety issues, manage tire pressure/installation, and ensure proper lubrication of moving parts. This entry-level position requires basic automotive knowledge and strong customer service skills. 

 Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Oil and Fluid Services: Draining engine oil, replacing oil filters, and topping off fluids (brake, power steering, coolant, washer fluid).
  • Tire Maintenance: Rotating, mounting, balancing, and repairing tires, as well as adjusting tire pressure.
  • Lubrication: Applying grease to vehicle components, such as suspension and wheel bearings.
  • Inspections: Conducting multi-point inspections of the engine, underbody, and vehicle parts to detect potential repairs.
  • Customer Service: Discussing service needs, explaining, and selling additional services to customers.
  • Shop Maintenance: Maintaining a clean and organized work area and adhering to safety protocols. 
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
  • Skills: Ability to operate tools and machinery (lifts, grease guns, impact wrenches).
  • Physical Strength: Ability to lift over 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Experience: Previous automotive maintenance experience is preferred but not always required for entry-level roles.
  • Certifications: Valid driver’s license is required, with additional tire/automotive certifications being a plus.
