Qualifications

We are looking for a Transportation Intern to assist with roadway design tasks using MicroStation and OpenRoads, contribute to roadway plan production and documentation, and conduct field visits. The ideal candidate will be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program, preferably with 2 years completed toward degree with a 3.0+ GPA, and possess strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

In the role of Transportation Intern, we'll count on you to: 
 
  • Gain real-world experience on exciting projects
  • Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs
  • Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures
  • Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager
  • Assist with roadway design tasks using software such as MicroStation and OpenRoads.
  • Contribute to roadway plan production and related design documentation.
  • Conduct field/site visits to collect roadway data
  • Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures to assigned tasks.
  • Collaborate with project teams for alignment and profile, geometrics, drainage, development of plans and construction estimates
  • Participate in mentoring and young professional programs, engaging with company leaders and recent graduates.
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications 
 
  • Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
  • Current enrollment in a Civil Engineering program from an accredited college or university.
  • Strong interest in transportation engineering and infrastructure design.
  • Familiarity with MicroStation and/or OpenRoads software is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take direction from supervisors.
  • Preference is given to local candidates


Required Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
  • Attention to detail
  • Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
