A high school diploma and knowledge of medical terminology are required, with office experience and Health Unit Coordinator certification preferred. Good communication skills are a must to succeed in this float pool role.

Job Description

Find your purpose at CentraCare as a Health Unit Coordinator with our Float Pool!  As a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC), you serve a vital role in being the communication link for the unit. Responsibilities will include greeting and assisting patients/families, guests, and providers as well as managing telephone communications, organizing and maintaining patient charts, and performing clerical and receptionist duties to support patient care.  In this role, you will float to all in-patient units at the hospital.  This position will float to all units at St. Cloud Hospital. 

Schedule: 

  • Full-time | 60-72 hours every two weeks | Nights | 12-hr shifts | 7pm-7:30am
  • Every 3rd weekend and holidays per unit policy 

Pay Information

  • Starting pay begins at $18.28 per hour and increases with experience
    • Pay range:  $17.00 - $25.54 per hour
  • Earn extra pay for working evening/night/weekend shifts

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience/knowledge required.
  • Certification as National Health Unit Coordinator preferred.
  • One year experience with office procedures and equipment with computer experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required. 
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Orientation and training will be given to obtain the desired entry level competence, in lieu of experience.
