Mortgage Loan Specialist I prepares and processes documentation for real estate loans to ensure they are closed in conformance with underwriting guidelines. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Scans closed loan package into Encompass and indexes documents into correct folders for submission to investors.
  • Prepares all transfer letters to borrowers, insurance, flood and PMI companies.
  • Completes Freddie Mac information in system if applicable.
  • Monitors for purchase by investor and sends purchase advice to investor.             
  • Transfers the MERS to the investor.
  • Activates PMI if applicable.
  • For FHA/VA loans, orders mortgage insurance certificate.
  • Sends final documents to investor within 60 days of purchase.
  • Ensures all departmental documents and activities are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures as applicable to this position, including completion of required compliance training.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, general business correspondence and/or journals or government regulations
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence

Education and/or experience  

  • HS Diploma/GED

Computer Skills 

  • MS Office programs
