Our service department is growing, and we’re looking for a dedicated Assistant Automotive Service Writer to support our Service Advisors and deliver a first-class ownership experience to our customers.

Position Overview

The Assistant Automotive Service Writer plays a key support role within the service department, assisting Service Advisors with customer interactions, documentation, and workflow coordination. This position is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in automotive service within a dealership environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet Subaru customers and assist with service check-in and vehicle information
  • Support Service Advisors with repair orders, estimates, and service documentation
  • Communicate service updates, completion times, and basic maintenance recommendations
  • Coordinate with technicians to ensure accurate repair descriptions and timely workflow
  • Answer incoming service calls and help schedule appointments
  • Maintain detailed and accurate customer and vehicle records
  • Assist with warranty documentation and recalls as needed
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and customer-friendly service drive
  • Promote Subaru maintenance standards and customer satisfaction

Qualifications

  • Previous automotive service, dealership, or customer service experience preferred but not required
  • Basic understanding of automotive maintenance and repair terminology preferred but not required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced dealership environment
  • Proficiency with computers and dealership service software (or ability to learn)
  • Professional appearance and positive, team-oriented attitude
