JOB TITLE:  

Botany & Biodiversity Intern

JOB PURPOSE:   

Botany & Biodiversity Intern in the Williams Conservatory and Biodiversity Institute

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Will be expected to work in indoor and outdoor growing environments performing manual labor: Weed removal; Miscellaneous plant care in greenhouse and outdoor settings; 
  • Data collection; 
  • Assist with workshops and tours; 
  • Assist with the installation of public displays; 
  • Assist in leading volunteers; 
  • Assist in updating publicly accessible teaching materials.

COMPETENCIES: 

Attention to Detail

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate in a public setting
  • May be required to work flexible hours, including some weekends
  • Ability to work independently after receiving proper training

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:   

Botanical or horticultural experience preferred
