Summary:

The Component Planner is responsible for developing order plans, forecasts, and schedules to ensure timely delivery of product from suppliers to Niterra-WV. This role involves generating purchase requisitions, monitoring component stock levels, preparing inventory tracking and forecasting spreadsheets, and collaborating across Niterra locations to support inventory management and operational goals. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, proficiency in MRP systems and Microsoft Excel, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop order plans, forecasts, and schedules (if applicable) for delivery of product from supplier to Niterra-WV.
  • Communicate completed plans to WV and Wixom personnel and supplier as applicable.
  • Generate purchase requisitions for suppliers utilizing the current MRP system.
  • Evaluate part status and report part shortages weekly on the developed spreadsheet form or SIR.
  • Prepare inventory tracking and forecasting spreadsheets, review customer orders and forecasts, and compare weekly to actual shipments and report status.
  • Create and review combined releases for increases, decreases, or abnormalities.
  • Interface with all Niterra teams at all locations as it applies to processes.
  • Monitor component stock levels and expedite or delay as needs dictate and based on current inventory and demand to meet daily requirements.
  • Maintain plant and annual order requirements, three-year plans, and monthly forecasts as applicable.
  • Assist and implement changes to allow for improved inventory management.
  • Maintain various purchasing files and assist in document and records preparation.
  • Support company and department goals and business objectives.
  • Coordinate special projects as assigned by management.
  • Develop IATF procedures or work instructions as it relates to the job function.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties.
  • Overtime and/or travel as required.
  • Complete other duties as assigned or requested by Japan, if applicable.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures which include IATF, ISO, TISAX, ISMS, and Safety related policies.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • MS Office experience required, with an emphasis on Excel.
  • Professional oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to learn, understand, and navigate the current MRP system.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency.
  • Basic accounting knowledge.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize duties.
  • Highly tactful and diplomatic with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Able to operate office machines, equipment, and a company vehicle.
  • Able to adapt to changing needs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of coping with stressful situations.
  • Combination of post-secondary education and/or previous associated work experience preferred.

  • Able to see and hear (correctable).
  • Able to communicate verbally.
  • Able to use a computer keyboard.
  • Able to sit for extended periods of time.
