Job Description

HRP’s Farmington, Connecticut office is seeking a full‑time Remedial Systems Field Technician to support our Environmental Field Technical Services team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, problem‑solving, and being outdoors. Primary responsibilities will focus on the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of environmental remediation systems, along with supporting field investigations and construction oversight. We are willing to train motivated candidates who bring curiosity, reliability, and a strong work ethic. RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

  • Operation, maintenance, and performance monitoring of environmental remediation systems
  • Groundwater, surface water, soil, and air sampling
  • Construction oversight and preparation of daily field reports
  • Soil stockpile sampling, tracking, and documentation
  • Perform field inspections, equipment setup, and maintenance
  • Collect, record, and organize field data with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Maintain field logs, chain-of-custody forms, and documentation
  • Operate and maintain field instruments and monitoring equipment
  • Reading and interpreting Erosion & Sediment Control and Site Grading plans
  • Assisting with hazardous building material surveys (asbestos, lead paint, etc.)
  • Field troubleshooting and problem‑solving for a variety of client needs

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma required; associate degree or technical training in environmental science, geology, engineering, or a trade-related field preferred
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically active tasks
  • Ability to lift equipment and perform physically active tasks
  • Travel to job sites, including occasional overnight travel 
  • Ability to write clearly in English
  • Basic computer proficiency (Adobe PDF, Microsoft Word, Excel)
  • Ability to safely traverse active construction sites with uneven terrain
  • Ability to wear standard PPE (hard hat, safety vest, work boots, safety glasses/goggles)
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • Willingness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus
