We are seeking a Press Operator for 1st Shift at our Auburn Hills, MI Plant.

Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday from 4:00 AM - 2:30 PM

POSTION SUMMARY 

Work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing setting that may include dust and debris and can be loud at times. Perform various tasks involved in operating a press to cut, shape and design all sorts and gauges of metal. Duties may also include loading and unloading metal coils, troubleshooting machines for malfunctions or irregularities, fixing machines to run and operate properly along with perform other preventative maintenance on the press. Must follow all applicable safety procedures to avoid injuries including requests for help from co-workers. Proper handling of finished parts and products to avoid injuries or damage, follow all operational instructions when operating or using tools and equipment. Provide quality checks as determined. Job may require overtime and a flexible schedule, reporting early and working late, including weekends. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOP’s) 
  • Load machines with metal coils.
  • Locate the products.
  • Ensure that machines do not run out of materials.
  • Monitor product quality.
  • Housekeeping while at the machine
  • Production reporting
  • May perform other related duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

  • Excellent verbal communication skills with strong aptitude for operating machinery.
  • Ability to follow instructions and learn the production process.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks. 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Hi-Lo Certification preferred, will be trained, and certified on the hi-lo.
  • (1) year of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Must be able to clear drug screen and background check.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation as you will frequently and repetitively be required to bend, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach to perform work, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk and/or sit and reach with hands and arms. May occasionally climb stairs, drive vehicles, and operate equipment. Lift or carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Must wear required hearing and/or eye protection.
