 Community Benefits Coordinator

General Summary/Responsibilities:

This position will assist with all aspects of the Community Benefits strategy to enhance the health of local communities, support Premier Health’s mission and values, and align with state and federal guidelines.  The Community Benefits Coordinator will manage community health strategies and programs throughout the health system, engaging both internal and external stakeholders to attain maximum participation and collaboration. The coordinator in partnership with the Director will coordinate the completion of the triannual Community Health Needs Assessment and Community Health Improvement Plan development and implementation. The incumbent must possess excellent interpersonal and communication proficiencies along with a high level of energy and engagement skills.  Participation in the community assessment and evaluation processes is essential for this role, so proficiency with analytic and computer skills is a necessity.
 

Qualifications

Education

Minimum Level of Education Required: Bachelor's degree
            
Additional requirements:
    Type of degree: Health Education, Public Health, MPH, Marketing or similar degree
    Area of study or major: Health Education, Community Health, Public Health
    Preferred educational qualifications: Prefer experience in project management, community health assessment, and population health.  Must show or document ability to lead small group discussions and maintain confidential records.

Experience

Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3  years of job-related experience
Prior job title or occupational experience: Public health or population health.
Prior specific functional responsibilities: N/A
Preferred experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience.  Experience in community benefits is preferred

Knowledge/Skills

•    Must understand basic community health concepts and theories.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•    Proficient in coordinating strategic coalitions and partners to further community health goals.
•    Knowledge of corporate marketing, community and media relations, and legislative and regulatory standards. 
•    Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Qualifications
•    1-3 years of experience in community health, public health, or project management.
•    Knowledge of community assessment process, including prioritization of health priorities and developing community health strategies and programs.
•    Strong oral and written communication required, including participation in large and small groups, group facilitation, and training.
•    Experience executing strategies, organizing, and prioritizing multiple projects.
•    Ability to influence others and work collaboratively with a variety of community and team members.
•    Able to work independently and be self-directed in a professional environment.  
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Access, Teams is highly desirable.
•    Valid driver’s license and reliable source of transportation.
Job Duties 
•    Assists with deployment of organizational assets per established guidelines and ensures that activities and programs are in compliance with legislative, regulatory, and organizational policies.
•    Assists with representing and promoting Premier Health’s community benefit strategy through community networking.
•    Serves on community health coalitions and other task forces, committees, and planning groups as a representative of Premier Health.
•    Communicates Premier Health’s commitment to community health and community benefit to internal and external stakeholders.
•    Facilitate active participation among Premier Health staff in community benefit program development.
•    Assists with the development of processes that will allow the Community Benefits program to operate consistently and effectively.  
•    Assists with the Community Health Needs Assessment and Community Health Improvement Plan completion. 
•    Leads the Community Benefit Grant program.
•    Development and creation of student and volunteer program in partnership with PCH Manager.
•    Assists the Premier Community Health team at community events as needed.
