Job Description

Summary:

This position is responsible for performing tasks in Manufacturing Departments by operating machinery and material handling. Duties to be assigned, such as storing and distributing toilet compartment hardware, packaging and processing for shipment of customer orders; deburring stainless steel components, finishing components and/or assembly of mirrors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follows verbal instructions to ascertain equipment and set up required.
  • Selects and sets up air operated hand tools and fixtures.
  • Communicates with team leader and supervisor regarding orders, hardware and inventory.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks or shelves according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code.
  • Monitors and verifies that the quality and quantity of work performed meets Bobrick standards.
  • Maintains the production process in a capable and aligned state by working continuously to improve.
  • Maintain a healthy and safe environment by keeping the work area clean, materials positioned correctly and follow safe operating procedures at all times.
  • Places orders on pallet or stages orders in designated location.
  • Pulls all parts and components, understands and uses pack scan equipment to verify completion of components and/or all items and specified on customer orders.
  • Maintains production and quality standards.
  • Works as a part of the department team and performs duties in work cells.
  • Operates tape machine, pallet banding and wrapping equipment to package and secure components for shipment.
  • Operates overhead lift for moving components from machines to pallet if required
  • Checks and completes paperwork prior to shipment.
  • Performs daily pre-use inspection checklist on equipment.
  • Assists with material handling operations.
  • Prepares a crate for branch orders or pallet for customer orders

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, climb or balance and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment:  eye protection (provided), hearing protection (provided) and safety shoes.
