Qualifications

This part-time internship is open to high school and college students at least 16 years old. It requires strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work with diverse groups and follow instructions with general supervision. Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are preferred or required for certain camp positions.

Job Description

  • Facilitate the Dual Language and ESL Summer Camps work sessions, conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teachers and work with individual Emergent Bilingual students or small groups to: (A) Assist students in the classroom with diverse academic and language proficiency levels (B) Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays (C.) Prepare, maintain, and monitor technology in the classroom.
  • Collect and organize documentation, distribute materials to teachers and students and analyze and record assessment data.
  • Communicate with parents as necessary, chaperone field trips and perform all other tasks and duties related to EB students as assigned.

HS Student - $16.00/hourly

College Intern - $16.50/hourly



  • Currently enrolled in high school or in a college or university.
  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Ability to successfully complete assignments with general supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral format.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse ethnic groups.
  • Demonstrated initiative and a willingness to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Demonstrated organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required
  • Must have reliable transportation and the ability to report to work punctually.
  • Bilingual preferred for Summer Explorers.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) required for Science Discovery and Spanish Immersion Camps.
