We are looking for an organized and proactive Program Coordinator (Lead DSP) for our Adult Day Program in Fairfield, CA. This exciting role is designed to support the branch, with a focus on program coordination, staff training, administrative support, creating engaging activities, and leading special projects that enhance our programs.     Job Description

    The Program Coordinator (PC) is the lead Direct Support Professional (DSP) for our Day Program.  As a PC, you’ll be responsible for providing direct support, hands on instruction, assistance, and positive direction to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) in a manner that ensures  their health, safety, successful achievement of service objectives, and personal goals.  You'll also play a vital role in assisting program operations, maintaining compliance, and ensuring the smooth execution of services.   

    While this role is not a supervisory role, the PC takes the lead to ensure optimal flow and direction of the facility. The Program Coordinator reports directly to the Program Director.

    Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    • Enrich and support the lives of our participants while maintaining a a safe, healthy, and engaging environment.  
    • Provide hands-on coaching to individuals in skill-building and community integration
    • Implement behavior supports and de-escalation during challenging behaviors  
    • Assist the Program Director in ensuring consistent, high-quality programming
    • Assist with goal tracking and progress repots
    • Oversee daily documentation, ensuring accuracy in individual records, ISP updates, and data tracking
    • Assist with planning and scheduling engaging program services, recreation, and activities
    • Coach and support our dedicated staff
    • Support staff in accurate documentation and program execution
    • Assist with finances
    • Communicate effectively with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams
    • Assist with facility management to ensure a safe and supportive environment

    Qualifications

    What makes you a great fit:

    • Bachelors degree in Human Services, Special Education, or related field is preferred.  Or, equivalent training/experience in disability services will be considered
    • At least 1 year of experience in disability services, adult education, or community-based programs, preferably in a day program or vocational setting
    • Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, such as intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, autism, epilepsy
    • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
    • Adaptable and creative
    • Organized with excellent time management capabilities
    • Confident and strong communicator
    • Positive role model; able to lead, coach, and support
    • Tech savvy
    • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
    • Highschool Diploma or GED
    • Must be 21 years or older
    • Ability to lift and transfer 50 lbs.
