Job Description

RESIDENT AIDE

Montello Care Center is seeking to hire more great Resident Assistants (RA) to assist in providing quality care to our residents. As an RA, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse and certified nurses’ aides. The RA completes assigned tasks to ensure timely, efficient, and safe patient/resident care. Communication and interactions with patients, residents, families, and other health team members is an essential component of this position. 

Qualifications 
This is a GREAT opportunity to get your career started in health care!  Working in a Wisconsin Illinois Senior Housing (WISH) owned facility, you are not required to have experience. You will have the opportunity to complete the Certified Nursing Assistant course and sit for the CNA test, ALL of which is paid for by WISH while you work at Montello Care Center.

Brief Description of Responsibilities:
  • This list is a brief overview and may not encompass all responsibilities.
  • Providing personal care and assistance to residents, such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting as needed.
  •  Monitoring and documenting residents’ health status, including vital signs, medication management, and report any changes or concerns to the nurse or supervisor.
  •  Assisting with meal preparation, serving, and feeding residents as needed.
  •  Engaging and facilitating activities and social interactions for residents to promote mental stimulation and socialization.
  • Supporting residents in maintaining a clean and safe living environment, including regular housekeeping tasks and ensuring proper infection control procedures are followed.
  • Assisting with transfers, mobility, and physical therapy exercises as directed by healthcare professionals.
  • Building positive relationships with residents, families, and team members to maintain a supportive and compassionate living environment.
  •  Providing emotional support and reassurance to residents during times of distress or mental health challenges.
  •  Collaborating with healthcare professionals, such as doctors, nurses, and therapists, to ensure holistic and coordinated care for residents.
  • Reporting any incidents, emergencies, or suspected abuse or neglect per facility policies and legal requirements.
  • Upholding and promoting resident rights and dignity, respecting their choices and preferences, and advocating for their needs when necessary.
  •  Continuing to develop knowledge and skills in the field of assisted living and aging-related care through ongoing professional development and training opportunities provided.
We offer a competitive wage and the following benefits:
  • RA wages are based on experience, starting at 15.00 per hour.
  • CNA wages for this position are based on experience, starting at $16.00 per hour.
  • Shift differentials of $ 0.50 for PM Shift and $1.00 for NOC Shift
