About the Role:

The Human Resources Intern will play a vital role in supporting the HR Manager by assisting with various administrative and operational tasks. This position offers a comprehensive learning experience, allowing the intern to gain hands-on exposure to recruitment, employee relations, and HR compliance processes. The intern will contribute to maintaining accurate employee records, coordinating onboarding activities, and supporting employee engagement initiatives. By collaborating with HR professionals, the intern will help ensure smooth HR operations that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. Ultimately, this role aims to develop foundational HR skills while contributing to a positive and efficient workplace environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of HR principles and employment laws.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous internship or work experience in a human resources or administrative role.
  • Familiarity with HR information systems or applicant tracking systems.
  • Knowledge of the transportation and warehousing industry is a plus.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
  • Support onboarding activities including preparing new hire documentation and coordinating orientation sessions.
  • Maintain and update employee records in HR information systems to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
  • Help organize employee engagement events and support internal communication efforts.
  • Assist with compliance audits and help ensure adherence to company policies and labor regulations.

The required skills such as organizational ability and communication are essential for managing daily HR tasks like scheduling interviews and maintaining employee records accurately. Proficiency in Microsoft Office enables the intern to create reports, presentations, and track data efficiently. Understanding HR principles and employment laws ensures compliance and supports the recruitment and onboarding processes effectively. Preferred skills like familiarity with HR information systems streamline data management and improve workflow within the department. Barfield is a FAA and EASA Certified Repair Station offering maintenance services to major passengers, cargo and regional airlines in the Americas. Barfield’s support services are organized into the following three main activities: Adaptive services, Distribution and Ground Support Test Equipment (GSTE). Barfield is also an authorized repair facility for more than 30 European and U.S. Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). More specifically, through its Airline programs division, Barfield supplies complete customized support programs for Airbus, Boeing, Regional jet and Turboprop aircraft, as well as helicopter operators. These programs support operators in need of inventory, logistics solutions, repair management programs, engineering fleet support and component reliability management.
