Key qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or current participation in such a program, as well as experience in customer service and a basic understanding of computer hardware and software. The role requires excellent communication skills, a detail-oriented mindset, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Job Summary

As a Data Center IT Trainee, you will be given the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and get a better understanding of data center operations, infrastructure maintenance, and the latest industry technologies. You will also be assigned to certain projects or other initiatives as time permits.

Education, Qualifications & Experience

Formal Education

  • Bachelor’s degree, with a preference for Computer Science, Engineering or other technical degree, or currently participating in such a program.

Professional Certifications

  • CompTIA would be desirable

Primary areas of responsibility will include:

  • Systems Installation and Removal.
  • Follows agreed procedures to perform simple installations, replace consumable items and check the correct working of installations.
  • Documents and reports on work done.
  • Assists with specified maintenance procedures.
  • Installs and tests new versions of system software such as operating systems.
  • Contributes to preparation of software implementation procedures with fall back contingency plans.
  • Contributes, under supervision, to routine infrastructure operations.
  • Gains understanding of infrastructure components and services by following the activities of experienced colleagues.
  • Performs simple security administration tasks. Maintains relevant records and documentation.
  • Assists in the investigation and resolution of network problems.

Experience:

  • Experience working in a customer service role
  • Experience in customer service techniques
  • Basic understanding of personal computer and/or MacBook hardware and software

  • You possess a detail-oriented mindset with the ability to execute repetitive tasks efficiently.
  • You possess a proactive mindset with the ability to plan and complete tasks with minimal direction.
  • You possess excellent written and spoken technical English.
  • You are a true team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Location and Work Model

  • This is an On-site role in our Quincy, WA datacenter

The anticipated base hourly rate for this position is $25.00/hr USD. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits per company policy: including healthcare, 401(k), sick and vacation leave, standard increases as applicable. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
