Process Operator III
Grade - 3

The Process Operator located in Wolcott, IN reports to our Plant Manager and is responsible for operating assigned machines to repetitively produce parts or assemble items following setup, quality approval and instruction by Leader or Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive machine assignment and instructions as to specifics of the work to be performed and quality standards from Leader or Supervisor.
  • Load strip, piece or parts or other material to machine, positioning as required and activate. May remove completed work or parts or subassemblies may discharge automatically to the completed work container or special cart.
  • Observe operation and note and segregate any obviously defective parts; call Leader or Machine Setter for machine adjustment or to report obviously defective materials.
  • Record production and other specified information following established procedures.
  • May handle containers of completed parts or materials for processing.
  • Clean parts sub-assemblies and work area and follow prescribed safety procedures in equipment operation; notify Machine Setter or Leader of guard or machine operating problems for correction.

Requirements

Required Skills / Experience / Equipment Operation:

  • Requires one to three months to attain proficiency on several repetitive machine attending, operating or assembly tasks.
  • Some dexterity is required as some parts are small.
  • Individual parts to a few pounds though most are lighter but occasional use of kick press requires leg effort for action.

Physical/Mental Essential Functions:

  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to reach above shoulders
  • Ability to walk back and forward thought-out facility
  • Ability to control operation of hand or foot
  • Ability to lift / carry up to 10 pounds
  • Ability to use keyboard, sporadic 10 key
  • Ability to use mouse (or alternative input device)
  • Ability to push / pull
  • Ability to turn wrist frequently in repetitive motion
