Job Title: Bar Porter

Department: Food & Beverage / Hospitality
Reports To: Bar Manager / Food & Beverage Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Position Summary

The Bar Porter is responsible for supporting the bar operations by ensuring all service areas are fully stocked, clean, and organized. This role plays a key part in maintaining efficient bar service by assisting bartenders with setup, replenishment, cleanup, and general operational support. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Stock bar with liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, and supplies before, during, and after service
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including counters, floors, sinks, and storage areas
  • Transport kegs, cases of beer, liquor bottles, and supplies as needed
  • Assist bartenders with restocking during service to ensure smooth operations
  • Remove trash, empty bottles, and recyclables from bar and service areas
  • Clean and polish glassware, utensils, and bar equipment as needed
  • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries in proper inventory locations
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Support setup and breakdown for special events or high-volume service periods
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support overall beverage operations

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a bar, restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment preferred
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy items (up to 50 lbs or more)
  • Ability to stand and move for extended periods
  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Basic understanding of bar operations and beverage service
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic

Work Environment

This position works in a busy bar or hospitality setting that may include exposure to loud noise, crowds, wet floors, and fluctuating temperatures.
