Job Title: Bar Porter
Department: Food & Beverage / Hospitality
Reports To: Bar Manager / Food & Beverage Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Position Summary
The Bar Porter is responsible for supporting the bar operations by ensuring all service areas are fully stocked, clean, and organized. This role plays a key part in maintaining efficient bar service by assisting bartenders with setup, replenishment, cleanup, and general operational support. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Stock bar with liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, and supplies before, during, and after service
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including counters, floors, sinks, and storage areas
- Transport kegs, cases of beer, liquor bottles, and supplies as needed
- Assist bartenders with restocking during service to ensure smooth operations
- Remove trash, empty bottles, and recyclables from bar and service areas
- Clean and polish glassware, utensils, and bar equipment as needed
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries in proper inventory locations
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards
- Support setup and breakdown for special events or high-volume service periods
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall beverage operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a bar, restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment preferred
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy items (up to 50 lbs or more)
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays

- Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic
Work Environment
This position works in a busy bar or hospitality setting that may include exposure to loud noise, crowds, wet floors, and fluctuating temperatures.
