Job Description
Valency Systems is a small, dynamic team of engineers, scientists, and researchers building the global hub for the agentic research era.
We're based in Berkeley, California, and we're building something that matters. If you care about open science, advancing research at the speed of thought, and using AI to accelerate discovery, we'd love to talk.
We're based in the Bay Area. As an intern, you'll be fully in-office 5 days a week over the summer — a great way to immerse yourself in the team and get the most out of your experience.
We're hiring one intern to help us tell our story and connect with our community.
Run our social presence: Create and publish posts that show what we're building and why it matters. Keep our voice consistent and our audience engaged.
Amplify user and customer stories: Find the people doing interesting work with our tools. Turn their wins into content that resonates.
Help build our podcast: Plan episodes, coordinate guests—technologists, developers, scientists, our founders, our engineering and science teams—and keep the series moving.
Coordinate the blog: Work with the team to schedule and publish posts. Keep the editorial calendar moving.
Prepare press materials: Build and maintain press packets. Help us be ready when journalists come calling.
Engage the community: Respond to comments, join conversations, route questions to the right teams. Be our front door.
Support events: Help coordinate our presence at conferences, demos, and community meetups.
You'll work directly with founders and senior team members. You'll shape how the world sees Valency.
You've worked at a startup before—you know the pace and the ambiguity
You're fluent in social media, not just as a user but as a creator
You have good instincts for what makes people pay attention
You're organized—you can juggle multiple workstreams without dropping things
You're curious about research, science, or AI (you don't need to be an expert)
**Open to all experience levels
Familiar with video editing software and tools and experience producing or editing short-form content for YouTube, podcasts, or social media
We want to see what you've created:
Social accounts you've run
Writing samples and/or content examples
Campaigns or projects you've worked on
Duration: 10-12 weeks (Summer 2026), flexible
Location: Berkeley (on-site, in our Downtown Berkeley office)
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate
Work Authorization: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
You'll work alongside founders and senior team members, not in a silo. Shape how a fast-moving startup communicates. Experience startup culture with weekly learning sessions and cross-team exposure. If you're exceptional, we'll talk about full-time conversion.
