Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills are essential for this role.
Job Description
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM
Participation in coverage for a rotating 24-hour afterhours line is required and compensated.
Overview
Provides recovery-focused services to people with serious mental illness, using jail in-reach strategies and following evidence-based practices with clients engaged in community services. Actively outreaches to partner agencies and individuals in the community to engage individuals into needed services and supports. Facilitates and coordinates access to these services and supports within the community. Implements client treatment plans.
Responsibilities
The Jail Diversion Case Manager/Skills Trainer assists clients in accessing community resources while teaching skills for client linkage of community resources. Helps to develop transition plans for incarcerated individuals and coordinates jail diversion, PSRB and other program-specific services. Teaches life skills such as money management, emotional self-regulation, good interpersonal skills, self-advocacy and utilizing public transportation. Liaisons with community partners providing education on Options behavioral health services and facilitating access to these services. The majority of services are delivered in the community. Manages time and caseload effectively. Transports clients to facilitate client-directed services, travels between sites and is required to drive.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s (BA/BS) degree in a human services field OR three years of experience providing services in a similar setting with individuals who have emotional and/or mental and/or developmental disabilities, OR a combination of education and experience that provides the desired skills, knowledge, and abilities required to perform the job.
Must be a QMHA on the Mental Health & Addictions Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO) registry.

Candidates must be able to use e-mail, compose documents, save and locate documents electronically, and learn to use our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Proficiency in Word and other MS Office applications preferred.
Must pass state-required background and DMV checks; possess a valid OR driver's license and a satisfactory driving record to be approved for driving rights. Candidate must be able to work independently and flexibly, under general supervision.
