Job Description

THE ROLE:              Painter

LOCATION:              Tolleson, AZ

REPORTS TO:        Production Supervisor

POSITION TYPE:    Full-time, Non-Exempt

OUR OPPORTUNITY:

Under the direction of the manufacturing supervisor, the painter sprays surfaces of manufactured products with protective material such as thinner based or water-based paint by performing the following duties.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Verify paint requirements for orders.
  • Select proper color and assure that paint is properly mixed.
  • Set up painting equipment and make changes as needed.
  • Check for paint quality of finished product.
  • Maintain the spraying equipment and the paint exhaust filter system.
  • Lift heavy objects by hand, or with a power hoist/crane, or forklift.
  • Perform assigned duties following safe manufacturing processes and conform to shop safety rules.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Follow good housekeeping practices in keeping the work area clean, works as a paint line attendant as required.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic computer skills as well as the ability to learn and operate in an ERP environment is required.
  • Read and understand shop drawings or prints.
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform basic calculations using a calculator.
  • Read and use a tape measure.
  • Basic computer skills in a windows environment/ERP system.
  • Demonstrates values of honesty and integrity, respect for others, teamwork and collaboration
  • Physical requirements include occasional move or lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Twisting, turning, grasping, reaching, pulling, and extended periods of standing.
  • The employee in this position must wear OSHA approved safety shoes with metatarsal guards, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, respirator, and painter’s suit.
  • Employee must be willing to work as needed, as well as any shift.
