Job Description

  • Plan and deliver dynamic lessons in U.S. History and/or World History that meet Oklahoma state standards.

  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles.

  • Create a classroom culture that encourages inquiry, discussion, and deep understanding of historical concepts.

  • Develop and implement assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust instruction as needed.

  • Integrate technology, primary sources, and historical perspectives into lessons.

  • Foster a growth mindset and encourage historical research and analysis.

  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate with students, parents, and administrators.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the social studies curriculum and support school initiatives.

  • Uphold high academic and behavioral expectations for all students.

  • Engage in ongoing professional development and participate in school-related activities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in History, Social Studies Education, or a related field.

  • Certification: Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certification in Secondary Social Studies or eligibility for certification preferred.

  • Experience: Prior teaching experience preferred but not required for highly qualified candidates.

  • Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of U.S. and World History.

    • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.

    • Excellent classroom management and student engagement skills.

    • Effective communication and collaboration with students, families, and staff.

    • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.

  • Successfully passing a background check.

Compensation and Benefits:

This is a Full-Time, 10-month leadership position.
