Qualifications
We are seeking an Audiology Assistant to support the audiology department through patient care, amplification repairs, equipment management, and administrative tasks. Key qualifications include relevant medical or clerical experience (preferred) and a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Audiology Assistant Certification for the State of Florida is also preferred.
Job Description
The audiology assistant's primary role is to aid the audiology department in providing essential patient care. They perform amplification repairs and minor troubleshooting, stocking and ordering equipment, fielding patient phone calls and messages, as well as additional tasks to assist in patient care. These duties will take place at all assigned satellite locations
Support functions including both direct and indirect patient care. Support functions including both direct and indirect patient care.
Perform routine daily clinic functions such as stocking supplies, turning on and off equipment, equipment biologic checks/ troubleshooting and ensuring all patient care areas have the needed items for service.
Assisting audiologists in all operations related to all hearing devices such as hearing aids (HA), bone conduction hearing devices (BCHD), ear molds (EM), cochlear implants (CI), assistive listening devices (ALD) systems, etc.
Tracking amplification inventory, repairs, loaners. Ensure that all incoming and outgoing mail tracking numbers are recorded.
Regularly correspond with manufacturers regarding patient requests and departmental needs.
Perform troubleshooting/repairs, direct patient contact in the form of troubleshooting and education, enter and quote charges appropriately, and document in patient's chart.
Order supplies and devices, check-in equipment, receive packages, perform budget, spreadsheets maintenance, payment request completion, and accounts payable reconciliation.
Completes all required training related to hearing devices. Attends any assigned staff meetings and product informational meetings to stay up to date on new technology and practice.
Additional miscellaneous duties and responsibilities, as assigned by management and audiology team lead.
Experience Requirements Relevant medical or clerical work experience - preferred
Certification/Licensure Audiology Assistant Certification for the State of Florida - preferred
Education Highschool Diploma or GED equivalent
