Position Location

This position is based at Clear Space Force Station, AK; will require occasional travel within Alaska.

Summary/General Description of Responsibilities

The incumbent is the assistant to the principal staff officer for the Project on all matters concerning Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR).  Responsible for planning, coordinating and executing all MWR, leisure and physical training events and activities that support and promote resilience and physical fitness for Clear SFS military and civilian personnel.


Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

  • The incumbent is the assistant to the principal staff officer for the Project on all matters concerning Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR). 
  • Responsible for planning, coordinating and executing all MWR, leisure and physical training events and activities that support and promote resilience and physical fitness for Clear SFS military and civilian personnel.
  • Advertise, coordinate, plan, execute and evaluate leisure events and activities. 
  • Ensure any/all transportation, accommodations, catering, reservations and special needs requirements, etc., for off-site events are accomplished. 
  • Manage and execute all funds handling requirements.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Create budget projections, build annual program plans and events schedules, maintain accountable property and supplies, assess program effectiveness and implement corrective actions, as necessary.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:

  • Associates degree or high school diploma with two years of related experience.
  • Must be able to speak, write, read and understand the English language. Must have a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record. 
  • Must pass background and drug test requirements.
  • Must be U.S. citizen.

Working Conditions:

Must be able to operate in the Alaskan outdoor environment during all seasons.  Must be able to operate general office equipment.  Must be able to operate ODR equipment and vehicles in Alaska winter conditions.

Physical Conditions:

Must be able to lift 50 lbs.  Must be able to stand, kneel, stoop, bend, reach and/or squat for extended periods.  Must be able to operate ODR equipment.
