The Production Assistant supports assembly and production line activities, ensuring materials and products meet quality standards. This role follows established procedures, assists with equipment operation, and reports issues to supervisors in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Performs line functions and assembles final product as required under the direction of the Line Supervisor
  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives
  • Uses quality control methods to verify goods received are consistent with required standards; uses proper QC, missing packing list, and rejection forms as needed
  • Responsible for raw material requisitions
  • Notifies supervisor of defective materials
  • May operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment; may lock warehouse
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE 

  • Ability to understand, follow, and maintain quality and safety procedures
  • Knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance
  • Ability to perform basic math
  • Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects
  • Ability to detect problems and report information to supervisor
  • High school diploma or equivalent
