Job Description

About the job: 

Kent is looking for Piping Design Interns to be based in Deer Park, Texas.                      

You will safely perform routine to difficult design assignments, requiring proficiency in drafting techniques, procedures, knowledge of applicable industry/design codes and standards.

Skills and Responsibilities:    

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare related package deliverables, including engineering deliverables like P&ID, ISO’s, equipment specification sheets etc. in consultation with a supervisor.
  • Coordinate with supervisors or team members to research information, finalize drafting packages, prepare BOMs etc.
  • Ensure compliance with project and company procedures.  
  • Support design assignments as needed, including verifying existing equipment for design or records verification.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of work progress and challenges. 
  • Participate in safety meetings, client presentations and / or other meetings as needed.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

  Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:   

Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification: 

  • Working knowledge of Design & Drafting technology. Proficient in AutoCAD, Plant 3D, and Acrobat DC.
  • Ability to work both independently and cooperatively in a team environment. 
  • Capable of working as an In-plant “resident” designer on location.
  • Knowledge of advanced/modern tools such as SPID and S3D.
  • Knowledge of Laser Scanning Technology.

 

Communication:

  • Excellent oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal/rapport building skills necessary to work effectively as a team member, and to plan/coordinate processes for results.
