Turn Services is Hiring a Deckhand!\

Location: Greater New Orleans Area (Belle Chasse, LA & surrounding locations)
Schedule: 2-for-1 Rotation
Employment Type: Full-Time
Work Environment: On-Site
Pay Rate: $200 – $240/day (based on experience)

Turn Services is seeking motivated and reliable Deckhands to join our marine operations team in the Greater New Orleans area. This role involves hands-on work aboard vessels and barges, supporting daily operations in a physically demanding and fast-paced maritime environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform general deckhand duties aboard vessels and barges
  • Make and break tow safely and efficiently
  • Secure boats and barges
  • Handle lines and rigging operations
  • Stand lookout watches
  • Maintain vessel cleanliness (cleaning, painting, chipping)
  • Assist with basic onboard cooking duties
  • Support minor engine room maintenance (oil changes, greasing, filters)
  • Follow all safety procedures and instructions from leadership
  • Complete additional assigned duties as needed

Must Have

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Valid TWIC Card (must maintain)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to work holidays, weekends, and flexible schedules
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs
  • Comfortable climbing ladders and working on uneven surfaces
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Comfortable working aboard vessels and barges
