The Revenue Cycle Specialist is responsible for reviewing patient accounts to resolve claim and reimbursement issues while maintaining accurate billing records. They also coordinate with insurance companies and ensure all activities adhere to HIPAA regulations and MGMA standards.
Qualifications
We are seeking a Revenue Cycle Specialist with at least one year of experience in a high-volume medical office and knowledge of medical billing procedures. The ideal candidate should have great attention to detail, data entry accuracy, and the ability to handle interactions in a professional and compassionate manner. Knowledge of Federal, State and Local legal and regulatory provisions relating to collection activities is also required.
Job Description
- Provides excellent customer service to both our internal and external customers.
- Reviews patient accounts to identify, analyze and resolve claim issues and reimbursement issues for both overpaid and balance due vouchers.
- Prioritizes and coordinates any questions or concerns with insurance companies for prompt resolutions.
- Monitors coding and billing for any errors or inconsistencies and makes corrections when authorized.
- Places clear and appropriate notations in PM system.
- Ensures productivity is within MGMA standards.
- Maintains the strictest confidentiality and adheres to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
- One year of experience working in a high-volume medical office environment
- Knowledge of medical billing office procedures
- Knowledge of Federal, State and Local legal and regulatory provisions relating to collection activities
- Great attention to detail and data entry accuracy
- Ability to handle all interactions in a professional, friendly and compassionate manner
- Knowledge of methods and procedures of health data systems
