Job Description

The Medication Refill Nurse will utilize Bluestem Health’s Medication Refill Procedure to manage refill requests and functions as a liaison between patients, providers, pharmacies, and staff in the management of prescription refill requests. The medication refill nurse will also be responsible for delivering nursing care in collaboration with the Clinic Managers, and clinic team supervisors.

The main job duties include:

  • Receive and coordinate medication refills for patients.
  • Refill patient medication requests per the medication refill procedure.
  • Coordinate with providers to refill controlled substances and as needed (PRN) medications.
  • Places phone calls and/or send orders to pharmacies for prescriptions
  • Assumes self responsibility for all direct patient care activities within the scope of the LPN license.
  • Assist in clinic with patient care as needed
  • Completes medication prior authorization, as needed.
  • Triage for patients by phone and walk-in patients.

Requirements

  • Licensed Practical Nursing in the State of Nebraska
  • Certified – Basic Life Support
  • 1 year LPN experience preferred
