POSITION OVERVIEW
The Production Intern position will focus on learning and performing various duties in all production departments to gain hands-on experience in manufacturing.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Manufacturing Facility: Learn what it is like to work in a modern-day manufacturing facility, how to excel in a fast-paced work environment and the general production flow.
Time Management: How to establish strong time-management skills
Blueprints: Learn to read, understand and apply blueprints in building our product.
Tools and measuring: Learn how to use tape measures, protractors and other measuring equipment. Learn and use general hand tools and power tools.
Parts inspection: Learn how to inspect incoming parts for compliance to company standards and quality control.
Production Stations: Depending on your age, you will be able to participate in observational or hands-on learning in:
Cutting
Machining
Welding
Finishing
Powder Coating
Assembling
Palletizing
Forklift Operation
Quality Control: Learn to identify quality issues and how to integrate quality into the final product
Perform other duties necessary to achieve our vision, fulfill our purpose, and live out our values.
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS
Be a sophomore, junior, senior, or recent graduate of high school (must be 16 or older)
Have the ability to abide by Spika company policies and procedures
Have the ability to follow directions
Have the ability to work safely
Show enthusiasm
Demonstrate a willingness to learn
Have the ability to participate effectively as a member of a team
Have time management skills
Have basic math skills
WORKING CONDITIONS
The position works mostly indoors with exposure to moderate-to-loud noise. This can be a physically demanding job. Must have the ability to lift 10-25 pounds.
