OVERVIEW 

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Construction Management Intern – Summer 2026 to join our Fort Lauderdale, FL office. This summer internship will be designed to shadow our Construction Engineering and Inspection Team and will be a mix of field exposure to Roadway Construction for FDOT as well as office/documentation/reporting of activities to the client. 

YOUR ROLE 

• Assist field representatives and senior field representatives in sampling materials and conducting soil testing, concrete or asphalt testing and similar activities. 

• Takes general notes on construction process, keeping diary records 

• Performs minimal plan reading, e.g. station location, curve information, locating features and elevations 

• Performs other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary 

ABOUT YOU  

• EXPERIENCE: No prior experience is necessary 

• EDUCATION: Must have completed approximately 60 hours towards a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship 

• SPECIAL SKILLS:  

• Basic computer skills required to enter data into spreadsheets or databases. 

• Math skills to perform simple calculations; willingness to learn. 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 

• Be physically fit to do manual labor and carry up to 60lbs.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION  

Expected compensation range is between $25 - $31 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
