Lincoln Prairie Behavioral Health Center is a 97-bed facility located in Springfield, Illinois.  We are dedicated to providing youth with compassionate mental health treatment that encourages self-responsibility and personal growth. We are the only facility of our kind in Central Illinois! We provide psychiatric treatment to children and adolescents that present with a broad range of psychiatric and behavioral disorders. A clinically skilled multidisciplinary team works to partner with the youth and family to accomplish their goals in a supportive and therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Responsible for efficient and effective patient and referral management within the Assessment and Referral Department. 
  • Provides courteous greeting and information to callers about pending admissions, bed availability, and bed transfers as needed. 
  • Responds to inquiry calls about hospital services, receives referrals, and follows up on all calls and pending admissions. 
  • Obtains billing and insurance information.  Conducts pre-admission insurance benefit verifications and pre-certifications/HSIs. 
  • Completes admission paperwork as directed, with exception to admission assessment. 
  • Maintains and organizes inner office files, data and records that pertain to the intake/admission process, including faxing information to insurance companies and relevant referral sources/managed care organizations. 
  • Provides computer entry for admissions/inquiry calls.
  • Greets patients and visitors and provides them with paperwork.

Requirements:

  • HS Diploma/GED required
  • A minimum of one (1) year related experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
  • SkMust be able to perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Must have good organizational, prioritization, computer technical skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
