The Appointment Scheduler is responsible for managing high-volume calls and accurately scheduling patient appointments within the patient management system. They must also communicate messages to appropriate staff while strictly adhering to HIPAA confidentiality regulations.
Qualifications
We are seeking an Appointment Scheduler to professionally handle a high volume of calls, accurately record patient information, and maintain patient confidentiality. The ideal candidate should have experience in a high volume call center, knowledge of insurances, and medical office experience or equivalent education.
Job Description
- Answer a high volume of calls in a professional and courteous manner
- Obtain proper information from patients when scheduling appointments such as demographics and insurance information
- Record information accurately into our patient management system
- Communicate messages to appropriate parties
- Maintain the strictest confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations
- Experience working in a high volume call center environment
- Great attention to detail and the ability to record information accurately
- Ability to develop and maintain a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with providers, staff, and patients
- Proficiency in handling all calls in a professional and compassionate manner
- Knowledge of insurances, referrals, and eligibility a must
- One year of medical office experience or a combination of medical education and office experience preferred
- Regular and reliable job attendance is required
