Pacific Coast Producers | Seasonal/Temporary | On-Site | Non-Exempt
Pay Range: 
$20 - $26/per hour (based on experience)

Pacific Coast Producers (PCP), a growing agricultural cooperative with food production facilities across the West Coast, is seeking Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join it's team at the Lomo Field Station in Live Oak, CA for our harvest season. The Manufacturing Engineering Intern is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and operating pear sizing equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This role focuses on minimizing downtime, supporting production goals, and ensuring all mechanical systems operate at peak performance.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Operate, inspect, maintain, and repair pear sizers, graders, conveyors, and related equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues
  • Adjust and calibrate sizing equipment for accuracy and efficiency
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production issues
  • Work closely with supervisors and operators to resolve mechanical problems
  • Maintain records of maintenance activities and repairs
  • Order and track parts and supplies as needed
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards
  • Assist with installation and setup of new or upgraded equipment
  • Maintain clean and organized maintenance areas
  • Participate in continuous improvement and equipment upgrades

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Technical Training Preferred
  • Experience working with industrial, agricultural, or food processing equipment
  • Mechanical aptitude with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems, motors, and sensors (preferred)
  • Welding, fabrication, and machining skills (preferred)
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, overtime, and peak-season schedule

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent physical activity includes sitting, walking, using a keyboard, touching, hearing, and speaking. 
  • Moderate physical activity includes standing, stooping, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb stairs and work around machinery.
  • Comfortable working around moving machinery and elevated platforms
