The College of Engineering Business Office is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Intern to support the financial operations of a large private research institution. This role offers hands-on, real-world experience in university finance, providing exposure to accounting processes, financial reporting, and sponsored project administration within a complex academic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with account reconciliations, including reviewing transactions, identifying discrepancies, and preparing supporting documentation.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports for internal stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
  • Contribute to sponsored project accounting, including expense reviews, budget monitoring, and compliance checks.
  • Help maintain financial records in accordance with university policies and audit requirements.
  • Participate in process improvement efforts to streamline financial workflows.
  • Perform additional administrative or analytical tasks as assigned by the Business Office team.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
  • Interest in financial operations within higher education is a plus.
  • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered
