Description
About Ethos Laboratories
Ethos Laboratories is a specialty clinical laboratory focused on supporting providers who manage complex patients, including those in addiction recovery, chronic pain, and behavioral health. Our core strength is delivering clinically actionable insights through advanced toxicology, biochemical testing, and pharmacogenomics.
We partner directly with providers to improve adherence monitoring, clinical decision-making, and patient outcomes, supported by fast turnaround times, high-complexity testing, and robust reporting and analytics. With a strong foundation in innovation and a mission to help more people, Ethos is advancing how diagnostic data is used to inform care in real-world clinical settings.
Position Overview
Ethos Laboratories is seeking a highly motivated Clinical Informatics & UX Design Intern to support the design and optimization of user experiences within our laboratory information system.
This role sits at the intersection of healthcare, informatics, and user experience design, focusing on translating complex clinical laboratory workflows into intuitive, visual, and user-centered system designs.
The intern will work closely with clinical, operational, and technical teams to understand real-world lab processes, map user journeys across the LIS, and develop storyboards and UX/UI concepts that improve usability, efficiency, and accuracy.
This is a hands-on, high-impact opportunity to contribute to real healthcare systems used daily by clinicians and laboratory professionals.
Why This Role Stands Out
This internship is designed for students who want more than a typical UX role. You will work on real clinical systems used in high-volume healthcare environments, tackle complex workflows where design directly impacts patient care, and gain exposure to informatics, diagnostics, and operational systems at scale.
You will present your work directly to executive leadership and build a portfolio with real-world, production-relevant use cases. Top candidates will be those who are intellectually curious, systems-oriented, and excited to solve complex problems at the intersection of healthcare and technology.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
