We are seeking ambitious, creative, communicative go-getter for a full-time Reality Check Coordinator position at Catholic Charities of Fulton and Montgomery Counties. Candidate will be working in identified locations within Fulton, Montgomery and Hamilton Counties to engage teens 13-18 in conversations about tobacco programming and policies. We work in identified locations but also with other coordinators around the state and city of NY. This is not an anti-smoker program. A goal is to foster supportive environments and individuals who can help prevent or reduce tobacco use, and implement community norms that support tobacco free communities.
Candidate must have creativity, willingness to learn, be trainable, and have some experience working with a variety of people in community and/ or business settings. Candidate must be able to actively communicate with a variety of individuals, and seek assistance when needed.
As the Reality Check Lead, you will play a pivotal role in individuals' lives, making a significant impact through:
Engage, build and maintain relationships with local youth and adults, businesses, elected officials and organizations (such as local coalitions, hospitals, youth, adults, chambers of commerce, mayors, councilmen, business executives, etc.) to participate in Advancing Tobacco Free Community (ATFC) efforts.
Disseminate tobacco related information in community venues and at community events.
Contribute to the science of tobacco control through the collection of evaluation data from youth and adults in the catchment area.
Build and maintain an effective tobacco program infrastructure in conjunction with the Community Educator through the participation of all sustainability efforts requested or required.
Participate in all mandatory or suggested NYS Bureau of Tobacco Control trainings; all regional and area trainings; attend all modality meetings, projects and conference calls as required or suggested by BTC.
Submit all monthly programmatic updates via the computerized CAT system within the required period of time each month.
Participate in all CCFMC or Youth Service Team meetings or trainings as deemed mandatory or appropriate by Program Director.
