Job Description

Department: Maintenance

Reports to: Director of Maintenance

Status: Non-Exempt

Starting pay $18.00/hour

This position is responsible for maintaining all maintenance parts and performing warehouse related duties. The incumbent will work independently and will receive assignments in the form of verbal and/or written instructions and follow section procedures. The Storeroom Parts Clerk must properly operate and maintain cleanliness of the shop facility and all related pieces of equipment and/or storage areas.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Inventory maintenance warehouse parts
  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining inventory levels
  • Assist in purchasing parts
  • Investigate any discrepancies
  • Arranging and/or labeling bins
  • Stocking and/or restocking bins as needed
  • Packing and/or unpacking ordered parts
  • Delivery and/or pick-up of parts
  • Operating of company vehicles on the road
  • Maintaining and/or processing of warranties
  • Issuing materials and supplies to mechanics
  • Perform routine clerical duties, including data entry, answering telephones, and assisting mechanics
  • Perform general housekeeping of shop area including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, etc.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested

Essential Skills (Minimum qualifications individual must possess when entering position) – i.e. skillsets, education, certifications, etc.:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ensure that all documentation as required by DOT is current and valid
    • Valid Hawaii State Driver's License (Minimum Type 3)
    • Hawaii Driver History Record (HDHR)
    • PUC (Physical Examination, Medical Clearance Card)
  • Three (3) months related experience and/or training (technical/trade school preferred); or equivalent combination of educations and experience
  • Able to speak, read, and write in English
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Inventory control activities or similar experience
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays
  • Able to apply logic to carry out instructions
  • Able to record accurate information as it relates to the maintenance duties assigned
  • Able to calculate basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Keep information organized and accessible
  • Maintain clean/functional workspace
  • Work systematically and efficiently by managing time well
  • Meet all team deadlines and responsibilities, listen to others and value opinions, help team leader to meet goals, welcome newcomers and promote a team atmosphere

Working Conditions/Job Environment:

  • Must be able to repeatedly lift objects up to 50 pounds, approximately five feet off the ground and on occasion, lift up to 80 pounds as necessary
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Must have good manual dexterity which involves frequent bending, stooping, overhead reaching, kneeling, squatting, and other physical demands
  • Must be able to work in a repair shop environment where loud noises, exhaust fumes, and chemicals are commonly present 
  • Must be able to bend at the knees, and flexible enough to work in awkward positions
  • Work various shifts, holidays and weekends as posted, overtime as directed, and receive days off as assigned
