Job Description
The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Biochemistry to begin August 2026. A Ph.D. in Biochemistry or a closely related field is required; ABD near completion will be considered.
Teaching: Successful candidates will be prepared to teach a 24 credit-hour per years schedule (typically 4 Classes Fall/4 Classes Spring), consisting of courses such as biochemistry, general biology, general chemistry, nursing chemistry, as well as possible upper-level courses for chemistry, biochemistry and/or biology majors. Possible upper-level course expertise in virology, immunology, microbiology, physical chemistry, environmental chemistry, or other specialties is considered favorably.
Professional Development: The Candidate is expected to engage in ongoing professional growth and scholarly activity, such as publishing research or pedagogical papers and/or presenting at professional conferences. Continued engagement with the biology, biochemistry, and/or chemistry community and the development of expertise within your field are especially encouraged.
Service: The Candidate is expected to contribute to the life of the department and the university through service activities, including participation on departmental and institutional committees. In particular, we seek someone willing to advise student clubs and organizations such as the Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta) Biology Honor Society and/or Gamma Sigma Epsilon Chemistry Honor Society.
