Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) is the master planning, creative development, design, engineering, production, project management, and research arm of The Walt Disney Company’s (TWDC) Parks and Resorts business segment. Representing more than 150 disciplines, the talented corps of Imagineers are responsible for the creation of Disney resorts, theme parks and attractions, hotels, water parks, real estate developments, regional entertainment venues, cruise ships and new media technology projects.

What You Will Do:

As a BIM Intern, you will learn the process and tools of Building Information Modeling and Virtual Design and Construction of Walt Disney Imagineering and participate in its implementation. This role provides hands‑on exposure to how BIM and VDC are applied at scale on world‑class themed entertainment projects. In this role, you will work closely with designers, engineers, construction teams, and technology specialists and support the vision, development, and application of digital technologies that enable design, collaboration, and construction across our global parks and resorts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate and support of Building Information Modeling and Virtual Design and Construction processes on projects
  • Learn and support the modeling, maintaining and design coordination with Revit.
  • Learn and support interoperability workflows and interconnectivity between various modeling and BIM applications
  • Understand and support the Common Data Environment of projects in support of the larger project data strategy.
  • Learning how digital models are used from early design through construction and project handover.
  • Collaborating with project teams to help implement and test new tools, processes, and technologies.
  • Helping prepare and maintain project documentation, and various process workflow standards.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

This role is ideal for someone who is curious, collaborative, and eager to learn how technology supports large scale, multidisciplinary projects. We value interns who are motivated, adaptable, and excited about the intersection of design, construction, and technology.

  • Revit modeling skills
  • Basic understanding of BIM concepts and digital project delivery
  • Familiarity with the design, engineering, or construction process
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working in a team environment
  • Ability to learn new software and workflows quickly

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

Exposure to or working knowledge of:

  • Autodesk Navisworks
  • Autodesk AutoCAD
  • Autodesk BIM 360 / ACC

Familiarity with (a plus, not required):

  • Rhino / Grasshopper
  • Dynamo
  • SketchUp

Education

Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher, in an accredited college/university, earning a degree majoring in Architecture, Engineering, Computer Science or other related field

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.

  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization

  • Must provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Orlando, FL area

  • Must have reliable transportation to/from work

The pay rate for this role in Orlando, FL is $31 per hour for undergraduate level and $36 per hour for graduate level.
