Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a High School Diploma or GED to receive and dispatch emergency and non-emergency requests for ground and air ambulance responses. EMT certification is preferred. Good interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency are required.

Job Description

Receive and dispatch emergency and non-emergency requests for ground and air ambulance responses.  Direct inbound and outbound telephone calls to appropriate departments, internal and external.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position.

  1.  Assists ground and/or air resources for emergency and non-emergency responses.
  2. Coordinates first responder notification of fire departments and other agencies as requried.
  3. Receives and keypunches requests for ground and air response.
  4. Documents daily activity.
  5. Provides pre-arrival instructions using EMD.
  6. Trains new Communication Center employees as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. National and/or State certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (preferred); as determined by appropriate state requirements; but not always necessary depending on experience, etc.
