Job Description

Certified Recovery Peer Advocates (CRPA) are required to possess an OASAS approved certification as a peer advocate. The CRPA will provide peer support services to patients in treatment and recovery from a substance use disorder.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the clinical team by facilitating connections between patients and additional recovery resources, enhancing patient understanding through education about community services.
  • Deliver nonclinical crisis assistance to individuals undergoing treatment.
  • Immerse patients in diverse recovery avenues and methods, offering guidance on various pathways to healing.
  • Contribute personal or relevant anecdotes on addiction and recovery to foster relatability and empathy.
  • Engage patients proactively to underscore treatment significance and elevate retention rates.
  • Efficiently utilize the EMR system for comprehensive documentation of rendered services and shared insights with patients.
  • Engage in regular staff meetings, contribute to case reviews, and actively participate in supervision sessions.
  • Conduct informative sessions and training for NYPCC staff, spotlighting emerging recovery trends and resources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor, Program Administration, and Leadership

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess one of the following: CRPA, CRPA-P, or CRPA-P Eligible
  • Successful fulfillment of at least 46-hours of training programs for Recovery Peer Advocates, covering areas such as advocacy, mentoring, education, recovery and wellness, and ethical responsibilities accepted by the New York State Certification Board and OASAS.

Additional Information

Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday (onsite)

Salary: $36,000 - $46,000 per year 

Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.
