Universal Loan Operations Specialist I

Job Summary:

Performs duties to ensure the overall operational effectiveness of Loan Operations and Credit Cards. Handles various assigned department duties related to Bank’s Loan and Credit Card applications. Excellent Signature Service is required with interacting with customers, branches, and other staff. 

General Description/Duties:

  • Processes credit card applications and document credit decisions in a timely manner and handle customer correspondence including but not limited to welcome kits, denial letters, and secured card offers.
  • Inputs new accounts in the credit card system, in addition to ordering cards. 
  • Performs reconcilements with accuracy for various general ledger accounts and clears exceptions in a timely manner.
  • Accurately works to resolve Synapsys service events for department (card orders, AFT requests, account closings, credit limit increases, late fee and interest waives, etc.). 
  • Performs account maintenance, account corrections, add/remove cardholders, limit increases, loan extensions and renewals. 
  • Processes payments and other account maintenance for participated loans, maintaining documentation and indexing proper documents to Synergy.
  • Processes mailed in payments for credit cards and loans and corporate card payments received from Accounts Payable.
  • Indexes all credit card documents to Synergy and perform quality control and assist with other loan documents as needed.
  • Reviews various activity and system reports as a quality control function.
  • Performs review of secured card accounts to determine eligibility for unsecured account when requested by customer and generate appropriate correspondence.
  • Assists branch personnel in problem resolution as needed: communicate in a professional manner with clear emphasis on providing quality customer service and operational support.
  • Prepares account verifications for review by senior team member or supervisor.
  • Prepares responses to direct disputes and e-Oscar disputes accurately and in a timely manner for senior team member or supervisor to review and submit.
  • Works with lenders and Participating Bank or Government agencies regarding transactions for participated loans. 
  • Remains knowledgeable of all banking products, services, and procedures.
  • Position will be required to comply with all Federal and State banking laws and related regulations, to include but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Maintains composure in frustrating situations and adapt to and help others adapt to change.
  • May be cross trained to perform other operational functions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job/Experience Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous Operations or Bank experience strongly preferred. 
  • Customer service oriented and a team player.
  • Ability to make sound judgement decisions.
  • Knowledge of federal and state banking regulations preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills: Communicates effectively and respectfully in a straightforward fashion, while listening carefully to what others are saying.
  • Analytical and good problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detailed oriented and accurate in work product.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational skills, able to prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines.
