The Community Fundraising Intern will play a crucial role in supporting our mission to provide the highest quality care to our patients and families. The intern will work closely with our development team to identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors, as well as assist with the planning and execution of fundraising events and campaigns primarily focused on supporting the UVM Children’s Hospital.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify potential donors in the community, including individuals, businesses, and community organizations
  • Assist with the planning and execution of fundraising events, including event logistics, marketing, and volunteer coordination
  • Help to manage and update our donor database
  • Assist with the creation of fundraising materials, such as flyers, social media content and donation appeals
  • Participate in community outreach activities to promote the hospital and our fundraising efforts
  • Some local travel may be required, mileage gets reimbursed

This is a part-time, paid internship with flexible hours. The intern will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in fundraising and development, as well as make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families in our community.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Enrolled in a bachelor's degree program, with a preference for students studying marketing, communications, or a related field

Knowledge/Special Skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and access to a reliable personal vehicle
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends
