We are looking for a Medical Scheduler to schedule patient appointments, medical tests, and procedures. The ideal candidate will have experience with medical scheduling software and be able to communicate effectively with patients, providing clear instructions and follow-up as needed. Familiarity with HIPAA privacy and security requirements is essential.
Job Description
Essential Functions:
Schedules follow up/return visits to our office for patients
Obtains appropriate pre-certification and pre-authorizations, as needed
Schedules medical tests and procedures for patients
Discusses patient instructions for procedures with patient so patient has clear understanding of what is expected
Calls patients to schedule procedures and give instructions over phone with follow-up letter with instructions
Uses Epic, Centricity Business, online paging systems and retrieves information from other hospital systems
Other Functions:
Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct
Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times
Performs other duties as assigned
