Prior Authorization Specialist – UB Associates, Inc.

Full-Time | Onsite

Company: UB Associates, Inc.
Pay Range: $18.00–$23.00 per hour
Work Location: In person


Position Summary

UB Associates, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Prior Authorization Specialist to support patient access to timely and necessary healthcare services. This role is essential in ensuring that required prior authorizations are secured for procedures, testing, imaging, medications, and admissions.

The Prior Authorization Specialist works closely with patients, providers, insurance companies, and internal teams to ensure accurate documentation, compliance, and a smooth care experience from start to finish.


Key Responsibilities

Prior Authorization & Eligibility Support

  • Verify patient eligibility and obtain required prior authorizations for medications, imaging, procedures, and admissions

  • Track authorizations to align with surgical scheduling and prevent expirations

  • Coordinate financial assistance with facilities or service locations when applicable


Documentation & Administrative Coordination

  • Manage incoming documentation and support completion of required forms

  • Maintain accurate records and ensure timely submission of authorization requests

  • Perform additional administrative tasks and special projects as assigned


Patient Service & Compliance

  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, ensuring a positive and supportive experience

  • Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality standards

  • Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and staff regarding authorization status


Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment

  • Excellent communication skills with patients, providers, and staff

  • Flexibility to adapt to fluctuating work hours and travel to other UBMD locations as needed
