Job Summary:

We are seeking a creative and dynamic Life Enrichment Director to lead programs that inspire joy, purpose, and connection for residents. This role plans and oversees group and individual activities that support physical, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being. The ideal candidate is an energetic leader who can balance planning, hands-on engagement, and team management while fostering strong community relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and lead daily, weekly, and monthly activity programs.
  • Supervise and mentor Life Enrichment team members and volunteers.
  • Develop resident-centered programming that supports individual interests and abilities.
  • Coordinate transportation, special events, and community outings.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, families, and community partners.
  • Manage departmental budgets, scheduling, progress notes, and attendance records.
  • Support recruitment, hiring, and training of Life Enrichment staff.
  • Respond promptly to resident requests and feedback.

Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s in Recreational Therapy preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of recreational therapy or activities experience; gerontology experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • CTRS preferred.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Creativity, motivation, and strong leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic recreational techniques.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Technologically proficient, especially in Microsoft Office.
  • Sound judgement and a strong ethical foundation in decision-making.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. occasionally; may assist with resident transfers.
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching.
  • Ability to safely operate a community van.
