SUMMARY: The Operational Excellence Intern supports initiatives to improve process visibility, project tracking, and continuous improvement efforts across the organization. This role works closely with the Operational Excellence Manager to organize, maintain, and enhance tools and resources that support effective execution of improvement projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and interested in process improvement within a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support development and maintenance of Smartsheet tools, including updating profiles, tagging, and organizing data.
• Assist in maintaining project documentation, including charters and schedules for process improvement initiatives.
• Help build and refine dashboards to track project prioritization, progress, and resource allocation.
• Edit and format Value Stream Maps (VSMs) for clarity, accuracy, and usability.
• Compile summary reports from VSM sessions using meeting notes and supporting materials.
• Support updates to Operational Excellence resources, including internal SharePoint pages and program materials.
• Assist with preparation of meeting materials and deliverables for SCOPE meetings.
• Participate in process improvement activities such as VSM and Kaizen events, as needed.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Preferred class level: Senior.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly in data organization and documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Smartsheet, Revu, Trello, or similar tools is a plus.
• Interest in process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar).
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

The starting salary for this opportunity range is listed.
